To celebrate his 80th birthday in 2023, GENUIN releases its fourth album featuring compositions by the outstanding Christian Ridil. The Leipziger Symphonieorchester, under the direction of chief conductor Robbert van Steijn, has recorded Ridil's orchestral works, all world premiere recordings. FAZ once described this music as "rhythmically sophisticated, technically and formally perfect." These qualities are evident in the flute concerto "Les jardins de Pan," the First Symphony, and the bassoon concerto "Brahms en France" – contemporary music that leaves you wanting more!
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Flöte

das Orchester
"Christian Ridil composes music that awakens the senses and stimulates the imagination. Robbert van Steijn leads the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra in the three works combined on this CD with a light touch and sympathy for the gentle humour that shines through unobtrusively." Review by Werner Stiefele, issue 4/2025
MusicWeb International
"The disc has intrigued me. Ridil clearly has a highly inventive and colourful mind and the ability to put his inner sound world down with great clarity." Review by Paul RW Jackson, October 6, 2024
Pizzicato
"Rainer Seidel illuminates the solo part with his bass-black playing, following the low pitch of the instrument, on the one hand, and with carefree liveliness, in an extremely versatile and eloquent way on the other hand. (about the bassoon concerto)", Review by Uwe Krusch, September 05, 2024
