Matthias Badczong
Clarinet
Matthias Badczong, who hails from from Oranienburg, studied clarinet with Joseph Kehl at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden, then with Heiner Schindler, principal clarinetist of the Staatskapelle Berlin.
Badczong has been working as a freelancer in Berlin since 1993 and, in addition to engagements with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen along with ensembles such as work in progress and ensemble unitedberlin, is particularly devoted to chamber music and contemporary music.
With Christine Paté, he initiated the clarinet-accordion plus series in 1999, where numerous works are premiered in collaboration with the invited composers.
