Martin Klett

Martin Klett has made a name for himself as an exceptionally versatile and multifaceted pianist. A keen spirit of exploration matches his intuitive and natural approach to music-making. Accordingly, his concert repertoire ranges widely, from classical chamber music to Argentine tango. This versatility is also reflected in his discography. Across fifteen recordings to date, he can be heard as both a soloist and chamber musician, including collaborations with the Armida Quartet, Sebastian Manz, Mark Schumann, Charles-Antoine Duflot, and Cuarteto SolTango.

He regularly appears at international festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, and Heidelberger Frühling. Increasingly, Martin Klett has also devoted himself to the harpsichord, collaborating with artists including Maurice Steger, Arabella Steinbacher, Magali Mosnier, and Jonian Ilias Kadesha, as well as with the CHAARTS Chamber Artists and the Kammerakademie Potsdam.

In 2008, he founded Cuarteto SolTango, with which he performs Argentine tango from the Golden Age in his own arrangements. Martin Klett studied with Konrad Elser and also received important artistic inspiration from, among others, Leon Fleisher, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Steven Isserlis, Christine Schornsheim, and Richard Egarr. Since 2025, he has been Professor of Chamber Music at the Franz Liszt School of Music in Weimar.
