After completing her diploma degree in flute in Gdansk, Magdalena Podkoscielna received her vocal training with a focus on Early Music from Peter Kooij, Emma Kirkby, María Cristina Kiehr, and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. In addition, she participated in numerous international vocal masterclasses with artists including Monika Mauch, Jill Feldman, Claudia Caffagni, Susanne Rydén, and Nigel North.
The singer has always been fascinated by the music of the 14th to 18th centuries, which now forms a central focal point of her work. The Polish soprano performs with various musicians and ensembles, including Jordi Savall (Hespèrion XXI), Philippe Herreweghe, Roland Wilson (Musica Fiata), Manfred Cordes (Weser Renaissance), Lionel Meunier (Vox Luminis), Elina Albach (Continuum), the Telemannisches Collegium Michaelstein , Alexander Schneider (Ensemble Polyharmonique), and Gianluca Capuano.
She sings internationally in diverse concerts in Spain, Italy, Israel, Argentina, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, as well as at festivals and in opera, CD, radio, and TV productions. These include appearances at the Bach Festival Leipzig, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Köthener Bachfesttage, the Händel-Festspiele in Halle, the Gdansk-Goldberg Festival, the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles, and in Moscow, Graz, Barcelona, Madrid, Venice, Hamburg, the Michaelstein Abbey, and the “Trzy Baroki” Festival in Wrocław.
In addition to numerous performances at home and abroad, her collaborations have also resulted in an impressive discography. Magdalena Podkoscielna is the founder and artistic director of the ensemble Concerto Reale. She also teaches courses on historical performance practice in Montepulciano at Palazzo Ricci.
