Henrike Legner
Soprano
Soprano Henrike Legner has been described by the Süddeutsche Zeitung as a “revelation for the Baroque repertoire.” This reflects her passion for the concert repertoire, spanning oratorios, cantatas, and masses (Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart) as well as the art song.
She collaborates closely with pianist Gerold Huber, with whom she has performed lieder recitals at the Richard Strauss Institute Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Allerheiligen Hofkirche Munich. In 2025, she made her London debut with pianist James Cheung. As a soloist, she has sung with various orchestras, including the WDR Funkhaus Orchester, the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, and the Philharmonisches Orchester Isartal.
Legner earned her BA in London and Padua and has studied at the Theaterakademie August Everding and the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Christiane Iven since 2021. She has performed as a soloist in Handel’s Ariodante, ter Shiphorst’s Die Gänsemagd, and Cavalli’s Il Giasone. In 2025, she sang Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel with the HSO Munich under Marcus Bosch. She has supplemented her studies in masterclasses with Brigitte Fassbaender, Emma Kirkby, Angelika Kirchschlager, and Joan Patenaude-Yarnell.
In addition to classical singing, Henrike Legner has a passion for jazz, modern dance, and ballet and is interested in interdisciplinary performance formats. At the 2024 XPLORE competition for new concert formats, her concert concept MetrOstinato was awarded and selected for the finals. She has been supported by the arteMusica Foundation.
