Born in Stuttgart, the soprano Maria Bernius studied at the conservatories in Würzburg (under Cheryl Studer) and Lucerne (under Barbara Locher), and has won numerous prizes. In addition to engagements at the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, the Theater Luzern and the Halle Opera, she also pursues a busy international career as a recitalist.
