Harp
Born in Wasserburg am Inn and now based in Wuppertal, Johanna Seitz studied concert harp in Wuppertal and Essen before specializing in historical harp performance in The Hague and Milan. Her primary focus is on multi-course Baroque harps.
She is particularly drawn to intimate and unconventional performance formats, often combining music with voice, spoken word, dance, theatre, or improvisation. Seitz performs with renowned orchestras, chamber ensembles, and soloists, as well as in the duo 33zwo with her sister Elisabeth Seitz (hammered dulcimer).
World-premiere recordings, works composed especially for the duo, festival appearances, masterclasses, and radio and CD recordings have taken her throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. She teaches at the University of the Arts Bremen, researches original harp repertoire, and edits the harp music series edition Walhall.
