Nadezda Pisareva
Piano
Nadezda Pisareva, born in 1987 to a family of professional musicians, attended the Central Music School in Moscow and subsequently studied with Sergei Dorensky at the Moscow Conservatory. Thanks to a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), she continued her studies with Klaus Hellwig at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she also completed her Concert Examination (Konzertexamen). Her education was further enriched by masterclasses with Elisabeth Leonskaja, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Maria João Pires, Stephen Kovacevich, and others.
In 2010, she was awarded the Silver Medal and the Chamber Music Prize at the Scottish International Piano Competition in Glasgow. This was followed in 2015 by a Third Prize and the Audience Prize at the International Piano Competition in Val Tidone, Italy. Nadezda Pisareva was also successful at the 2014 ARD International Music Competition (Bärenreiter Urtext Prize), as well as at competitions in France, Spain, the Czech Republic, and the United States.
From 2014 to 2016, she was a member of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation “Live Music Now Berlin.” In 2010, her interpretation of Sergei Prokofiev’s Third Piano Concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Martyn Brabbins at the Glasgow City Halls was described by The Herald Glasgow as “wonderfully light, effervescent, and utterly exciting.”
In the same year, Polish Radio Channel 1 (Polskie Radio 1) attested to her “incredible talent” and a “rarely encountered technical dexterity and mastery.” In 2016, she performed with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia in Brussels. In 2015, she appeared as part of the Verbier Festival Academy.
Her first album, a Schumann recital, was released in 2013. This was followed by a duo production with saxophonist Hannah Stohl, in collaboration with the Mecklenburg Foundation and Deutschlandradio Kultur. In 2021, supported by a Neustart Kultur grant, she recorded Beethoven’s Hammerklavier Sonata and Schubert’s Moments musicaux, released by GENUIN classics in 2022.
During the 2023/24 season, Nadezda Pisareva appeared, among other venues, at the Leipzig Gewandhaus and the Konzerthaus Berlin. In 2025, she performed in the Grand Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie. Engagements with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra Wernigerode are planned for 2026. Since 2020, Nadezda Pisareva has been a lecturer at the Berlin University of the Arts.
