Swiss Chamber Soloists

Just before the turn of the century, Jürg Dähler (Zurich), Daniel Haefliger (Geneva) and Felix Renggli (Basel) founded the Swiss Chamber Concerts (SCC). Bringing together leading musicians from all parts of the country with internationally renowned guest artists, the three artistic directors initiated the first Switzerland-wide chamber music project to feature concert series in Basel, Geneva, Lugano and Zurich. Top-level performances and innovative programming quickly made an excellent name for the Swiss Chamber Concerts in the Swiss music scene.

A flexible ensemble of top-class musicians, the Swiss Chamber Soloists are able to meet the demands of the nearly unlimited chamber music repertory of several centuries. They regularly perform with internationally recognized soloists such as Heinz Holliger, Thomas Zehetmair, Christophe Coin, Christoph and Julian Prégardien, Sarah Wegener, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Ilya Gringolts and Lawrence Power, to name just a few.

The group’s repertoire encompasses works from a wide variety of styles and periods from baroque—including performances on period instruments—to contemporary. An impressive list of works was written for, and premiered by the Swiss Chamber Soloists. From its foundation, the ensemble was invited to perform throughout Europe, in Asia, Australia and Japan. Excellent reviews as well as a number of radio and CD recordings attest to their outstanding reputation.
