The Israeli violinist Nurit Stark studied at the Rubin Academy Tel Aviv (Haim Taub), Juilliard School New York (Robert Mann), Musikhochschule Köln (Alban Berg Quartet), and the Universität der Künste Berlin (Ilan Gronich). She was a prizewinner at the G. Enescu Competition Bucharest, Chamber Music Competition “Premio Trio di Trieste,“ and the L. Mozart Violin Competition Augsburg. She has made solo appearances with orchestras such as the Israeli Philharmonic (Z. Mehta), and the Münchner Rundfunkorchester (D. Sitkovetsky). As a chamber musician she has performed at international festivals such as Lockenhaus
Kammermusikfest, Schleswig Holstein Festival, Rheingau Festival, Mozart Festival Augsburg, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Pacific Music Festival Saporo, Davos Festival as well as appearing in concert in Europe, Israel, Japan and the US at such important venues as Carnegie Hall New York, the Berlin Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Vienna, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and Mozarteum Salzburg. Her love for contemporary music has led her to perform several world premieres and to collaborate with composers such as S. Gubaidulina, Viktor Suslin and Georg Nussbaumer. For many years she has been working in close collaboration with pianist Cédric Pescia. Their duo is supported by the Forberg-Schneider Foundation. She also appears in avant-garde stage projects (Schaubühne Berlin, Bobigny Paris, Burgtheater Vienna). She plays a 1710 Pietro Guarneri di Mantua violin.
