Jaime González studied with Hans Elhorst, Thomas Indermühle and Heinz Holliger. He has been a member of ensemble recherche since 2000, one of Europe’s foremost New Music chamber music groups. In 1995 he founded the Arundo Ensemble, a woodwind chamber group with repertoire ranging from the Early Baroque to New Music. Jaime González has been Professor of Oboe at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern (Switzerland) since 2009. González regularly appears as a recognized chamber musician, soloist and orchestral musician throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America, performing repertoire from the Early Baroque all the way to New Music. He has won prizes at international competitions in Bayreuth, Asti (Italy), and Mannheim. He has also received a scholarship from Universidad de Chile and the Chilean Ministry of Culture, as well winning the “Gustav Scheck” Music Prize of the Commerzbank Stiftung. Jaime González regularly teaches master classes in Spain and Italy, and is also a guest instructor in Kiev, Lvov (Lemberg), Tiflis, Moscow, Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, Bogotá, Curitiba, Lugano and Rostock, and is a member of the faculty at the Ensemble-Akademie Freiburg and the Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik.
