Timotheos Gavriilidis-Petrin, born in Thessaloniki in 1994, is considered one of the best Greek cellists of his generation. After early successes at major international competitions, he has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kansas City Symphony.

He is a founding member of the Trio Zimbalist and regularly performs at the Marlboro Music Festival, the Ravinia Festival and other prominent chamber music festivals. He studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music, where he was mentored by Laurence Lesser.
