Marianne Le Mentec studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she won first prize in harp performance and chamber music. She continued her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in advanced training. During a stay at the Banff Center for the Arts (Canada), she won fi rst prize in chamber music and returned the following year as a guest. Marianne Le Mentec also won first prize at the Soka International Harp Competition in Japan and was subsequently invited to perform in Tokyo and San Francisco.
She regularly performs with multiple orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre National de France, L’Ensemble Orchestral, Les Siècles, and L’Ensemble Intercontemporain, where she participated in the creation of Sur Incises by Pierre Boulez (for three harps, three pianos, three percussion instruments). She also plays chamber music in various ensembles.
A graduate of the Certificat d’Aptitude (CA) de Harpe program, Marianne Le Mentec established the harp class at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental (CRD) in Aulnay-sous-Bois, where she still teaches, and at the CRD of Bourg-la-Reine/Sceaux.
