The GENUIN recording by the Leipzig vocal ensemble amarcord has been awarded the ICMA 2026

The Leipzig vocal ensemble amarcord was honored yesterday with the prestigious International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) in the Early Music category. The award was given for the album “Maria,” featuring works by Josquin des Prez from Leipzig manuscripts as well as Marian sequences from the Thomas Graduale.

Congratulations to amarcord!

“The result is a stylistically masterful, extremely precise, and sonically coherent vocal gem that serves as a benchmark,” stated the jury.

Our sound engineers Michael Silberhorn and Holger Busse were responsible for the recording. The works were recorded at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, affectionately known as the “living room” by the vocal ensemble.

The collaboration between amarcord and GENUIN has a long tradition and has already produced numerous CD recordings.
