New recording with the Bach Prize winner Jan Čmejla

Czech-born pianist Jan Čmejla won 1st prize in the piano category at the Leipzig Bach Competition 2025 with a total of 24 participants.

The Bach Prize winner can now be heard in a solo recital during the Leipzig Bach Festival in the Great Hall of the Gewandhaus on June 12, 2025. As the winner of the Bach Competition, GENUIN has awarded a CD production to the 21-year-old virtuoso as a special prize and will therefore record the concert. The album will then be released on streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music.

Jan Čmejla studied at the Prague Conservatory with Eva Boguniová from 2018 to 2022 and has been continuing his studies at the Mannheim State University of Music and Performing Arts with Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy since 2022. He has taken part in masterclasses with Boris Giltburg, Lang Lang and Gautier Capuçon. Jan Čmejla won 1st prize at the Concours International de Piano d'Epinal 2022, the Concertino Praga 2019 and the Santa Cecilia Competition 2021. He has performed in the USA, the Czech Republic and China.
