William Blank: Einklang

The sound of a string quartet can be extremely powerful, as can be heard in the new GENUIN CD (Artist Consort series) by the renowned Quatuor Sine Nomine. With the “Book for String Quartet: Einklang” by William Blank (born 1957) – a world premiere recording – the Swiss musicians have achieved something remarkable: the Swiss composer’s musical world hovers between passages overlapping and grinding against one another and massive blocks of sound, between precise chords and noise-like clusters.
