Do vibrations continue to tremble over the course of centuries? The Dresden violin virtuoso Johann Georg Pisendel studied in Italy, shortly after 1700, with one of the greatest violinists of his time – with none other than the red-haired priest, Antonio Vivaldi himself. This explains the fact that there is a rich music collection of this period in Saxony, a truly gourmet feast for a violinist like Annette Unger. Together with her Dresden professor colleagues Michael Pfaender and Ludger Rémy on her fourth GENUIN CD, she makes these baroque treasures resonate, swing, and sing: an entire flower bouquet of Vivaldi violin sonatas – as if Pisendel himself remembered the country where lemons flourish…

Early Music Review
"The technical demands are considerable, but Annette Unger is easily their master."
Review on the Early Music Review, 10/12
Gramophone
“she quickly settles down to a manner that is agile and easy-flowing, while not lacking in boldly projected articulation and detail. ... in general these pieces are convincingly brought to life.”
Review on the magazine Gramophone, December 2012
Fanfare and Arkiv Music
"Urgently recommended."
