Jan Dismas Zelenka

The sumptuous resplendence of Dresden shines through in the festive choral works by Jan Dismas Zelenka recorded on the GENUIN classics label by the Marburger Bachchor and L’arpa festante with Nicolo Sokoli conducting. A Magnificat, Christmas Mass and Dixit Dominus setting are featured in the new release. From the highly expressive music, the warm sound of the chorus, the nuanced orchestral accompaniment, the noble singing of the soloists and the convincing overall effect of the recording, there is something appealing to any listener.
