The young concert pianist Miao Huang was awarded the coveted First Prize as well as the Special Prize of the Marie-Luise Imbusch Foundation for her outstanding achievements at the 2011 Deutscher Musikwettbewerb and has thus been named to the Deutscher Musikrat Künstlerliste of soloists and is featured in the 56th nationwide German Young Artists Concerts. Miao Huang completed her studies in piano performance with Prof. Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy, Prof. Fabio Bidini and Prof. Bernd Goetzke at Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. She also gained important artistic insight through master classes given by Peter Feuchtwanger, Michael Ponti, Arie Vardi, Matti Raekallio, Jerome Rose and Cécile Ousset. Miao Huang has won prizes at many international piano competitions and held a scholarship from the Rhineland-Palatinate Initiative for the Future (ZIRP) for a long time. She has appeared as soloist with a wide range of acclaimed orchestras. Her concert engagements have taken her to venues such as the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Gewandhaus Leipzig. She has been featured in recordings with German broadcasters Südwestrundfunk, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Saarländischer Rundfunk, Deutschlandfunk and Deutschlandradio Kultur. Miao Huang also holds a master’s degree in business mathematics.
