Georgy Tchaidze

Georgy Tchaidze (born 1988 in Saint Petersburg) is admired for his refined sensitivity, tonal depth, and artistic maturity. He gained international recognition in 2009 as the winner of First Prize at the Honens International Piano Competition in Canada. Since then, he has appeared in major venues such as the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Glenn Gould Studio Toronto, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the Oriental Arts Centre Shanghai, Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as BOZAR and Flagey in Brussels.
He has been a guest at renowned festivals including the Verbier Festival, Lucerne Festival, Kissinger Sommer, Piano aux Jacobins in Toulouse, Young Euro Classic, Septembre Musical Montreux, the Lofoten International Piano Festival, Festspillene i Nord-Norge, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, Toronto Summer Music, the Cartagena International Chamber Music Festival, Musique de chambre en Normandie in Giverny, the Festival Pianistico Internazionale Cristofori in Padua, Trame Sonore Mantua, Serate Musicali Milan, and the Cambridge Summer Music Festival.
He studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Sergey Dorensky and at the Berlin University of the Arts with Klaus Hellwig (Master’s degree with distinction). He was also an Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel under Louis Lortie. He has performed with orchestras including the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and the Brussels Philharmonic, and has collaborated with artists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Leonard Slatkin, and Bramwell Tovey.
A central focus of his artistic activity is chamber music, including collaborations with the Borodin Quartet, the Brentano String Quartet, and the Cecilia String Quartet, as well as with artists such as Piotr Anderszewski, Stephen Kovacevich, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Marc-André Hamelin, and Nikolai Lugansky. His discography comprises four albums. He has lived in Berlin since 2010.
