Nominated “Echo Rising Star” for the 2015/2016 season, Luxembourg pianist Cathy Krier has enjoyed great success in the most prestigious concert halls in Europe. Her programs featuring works from the baroque to the present day have been highly praised.

Cathy’s passion for music always drives her to go beyond conventions. She enjoys working on special projects and pushing her limits to excel and arouse her own curiosity and that of her audience. Her projects include well-conceived solo and chamber music programs as well as collaborations with choreographers, musical journeys for young audiences, musical theater, and the annual “Yoga at the Phil”-cycle at the Philharmonie Luxembourg.

In May 2022, she created a new chamber music festival in her native country, the Catch Music Festival. Cathy Krier has given successful concerts at the Bozar in Brussels, the Barbican Centre in London, the Philharmonie 2 (now Cité de la Musique) in Paris, the Sage Gateshead (now The Glasshouse. International Centre for Music), the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, the Palace of Arts (Müpa) in Budapest, the Konserthuset in Stockholm, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Kölner Philharmonie, the Casa da Música in Porto, the Musikverein Vienna, the Birmingham Town Hall, the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Radio and television appearances – most recently in Daniel Hope’s Europe@Home-series on arte – round out Cathy Krier’s artistic activities. Since 2018, Cathy Krier has held a professorship in piano at the Conservatory of the City of Luxembourg, where she also lives with her family.
