Liszt: Symphonic Poems
A new perspective on Liszt’s Symphonic Poems
![]()
The piano duo FourTe – Eva-Maria Weinreich and Tomohito Nakaishi – presents its debut album with GENUIN, unveiling a fresh perspective on Franz Liszt's symphonic poems, rendered with the monumental resonance of two concert grand pianos. Liszt himself transcribed his groundbreaking orchestral works for piano – both for two pianos and for four hands. Drawing from all three versions, the internationally acclaimed German-Japanese duo FourTe has crafted a richly textured and colorful arrangement for two pianos, bringing Liszt's orchestral splendor and opulent sound world as close to the original as possible – a symphonic flight across 176 keys!
Fono Forum
“The duo FourTe brings the compositions to life with narrative power. The artists bring out the dramatic contrasts of the first work with meticulous care, just as they bring a multi-layered portrait of the Italian poet to life in the second piece.” Review by Frank Siebert, Issue 6/2026
Pizzicato
"…the two pianists have a remarkable sense of contrasting tension and relaxation." Review by Norbert Tischer, June 10, 2025
