Eva Wetzel is a versatile violinist with a passion for all facets of music, society, and their mutual interrelationships. She is especially dedicated to communicating with other people on a profound level – whether in her concerts, her teaching, or her participation in interdisciplinary projects. Constantly looking for new ways to make classical music more accessible and inclusive, she strives to make a contribution to society through her art.

Eva Wetzel has won prizes in numerous national and international competitions and has been heard in major concert halls throughout Europe, including the Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Auditori di Girona, and the J. Myron Theater Ostrava.

Eva Wetzel received her concert exam degree with distinction in October 2025 from the University of Music and Theater Hamburg with Tanja Becker-Bender. She previously completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with Ida Bieler and her master’s degree at Yale University with Ani Kavafian. During her studies, she co-founded the Vivaldi Project, an initiative for the musical education of socially disadvantaged children.

In addition, she was a junior member of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and was awarded the 2023/24 StART.up scholarship of the Claussen Simon Foundation Hamburg. Since October 2023, she has held a teaching position at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. She plays a violin by Marc de Sterke and a bow by Magdalena Sapeta.
