Soloists of the Schubertiaden Schnackenburg

The word Schubertiade has been, since 1820s Vienna, a synonym for music-making at a high and at the highest level, music-making with people one likes. The affinity between the musicians who meet each year at the Schubertiade Schnakenburg (Lower Saxony) is clear from the very beginning on this new GENUIN CD with chamber music of Mozart and Shostakovich. Mozart’s great G-minor String Quintet is painful, intimate and concentrated. And the first-class musicians in Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet show, from the very first stunning chords, that they are inspired by a shared expressive will. The ensemble formed around the Festival-founder Arkadi Zenzipér plays grippingly, with differentiation and virtuosity. This is a real discovery for friends of chamber music!
