The floating, overtone-rich sound of his historical keyboard instruments compels one to listen just as much as his inspired, sensitive playing. “Fantasy Pieces,” Early Morning Songs”, “composed for Clara along with the gift of a grand piano.” The composer arrives at new compositional paths on the wings of his creative imagination in an almost alarming way, not least inspired by the innovative keyboard instruments of 1850 documenented here by Tobias Koch.
