An undiscovered continent opens up before us when we listen to the new GENUIN CD by clarinetist Yulia Drukh: Virtuoso, dreamy, sonorous music composed exclusively for the solo clarinet is compiled here, punctuated by the young musician and poet’s own verses. Except for the finale, a composition by the great sound magician Isaac Albéniz, the CD features works from the 20th and 21st centuries, including three pieces dedicated to Yulia Drukh. The artist covers a wide range of cultures: The recorded works are inspired by the folklore of different regions, thus reflecting the power of music as a unifying universal language.

"The committed interpreter Yulia Drukh from St. Petersburg presents a courageous debut CD with works from the 20th and 21st centuries for solo clarinet. [...] Her own thoughtful poems, which she herself recites as intermezzi between the individual works, show that her artistic aspirations go beyond music." Review by Heribert Haase, 1/2024 issue
Badische Neueste Nachrichten Karlsruhe
"Decisive for the listening impression of the CD is the colourfulness of the playing, which often masters the high technical demands with ease, but also the diverse liveliness of the rhythm of the pieces, fed by folkloristic roots, which is spread out here." Review by Thomas Weiss, 04.08.2023
