With this CD, Clemens Müller and I-chiao Shih are championing the work of a great but wrongfully neglected Lieder composer: Franz Liszt! Pianist Clemens Müller, who has already released the highly positively received Voyage down the Danube with GENUIN, and Taiwanese Mezzo-soprano I-chiao Shih, the winner of many international awards, soar up to Lieder heaven on the harmonies of the master’s own Steingraeber grand piano from 1847. And when we hear the warmth of Shih’s voice and Müller’s sensitive piano accompaniment, there is no doubt in our minds that Liszt, up on his cloud, is applauding in approval. Fans of art song take note: each Lied is more beautiful than the next, and we can easily get hooked…
