Emanuel Moór - Violin Sonata No. 3, Op. 23: I. Moderato
Single-Release
GENUIN’s advance single heralds something of a sensation: violinist Simon Monger and pianist Amir Farid perform a movement from the Third Violin Sonata by the late-Romantic Hungarian-born composer Emanuel Moór. In 2027, the two musicians will follow it with two double albums featuring eight sonatas and a variety of shorter compositions that were performed in their day by leading violinists, among them Henri Marteau, Jeno Hubay, Jaques Thibaud and Eugène Ysaÿe; Johannes Brahms even proofread the manuscript. Colorful, virtuosic, impassioned chamber music that has gone largely unheard for more than a century, performed by two outstanding interpreters: at just seven minutes, this Moderato is guaranteed to leave you wanting „Moór“.
