Moë Dierstein
Violin
Moë Dierstein was born in 2005 into a German-Japanese family of musicians. She began playing the violin at the age of three and quickly revealed an exceptional artistic sensibility. Her teachers have included Rainer Kussmaul, Wolfgang Marschner, and Simone Zgraggen. Since 2024, she has studied with Antje Weithaas at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin.
She attracted attention at an early age through numerous successes at national and international competitions. In 2025, she was awarded the First Prize at the German Music Competition in Leipzig, in addition to receiving the Fondation Hindemith Special Prize. She has also received prizes at the International Louis Spohr Competition | Young Violinists in Weimar, the Kloster Schöntal Competition, the Tibor Junior International Violin Competition in Sion, and, in 2019, the Eduard Söring Prize of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
Baroque music and chamber music hold a special place in her artistic life. Since 2018, she has been a member – and for many years leader – of the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Baroque Orchestra, with which she has also appeared regularly as a soloist. Her concert engagements have taken her to the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Mozartfest Würzburg, and the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, among other venues. Since 2022, she has performed on a violin by Camillus Camilli (Mantua, 1742), generously made available to her by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
