Album release tour by pianist Naoko Christ-Kato featuring piano works by Rosy Wertheim

Japanese-German pianist Naoko Christ-Kato is committed to discovering forgotten works by female composers. Her recently released album is dedicated to Dutch composer Rosy Wertheim, one of the first Dutch female composers to complete professional musical training. During World War II, the Amsterdam-born and internationally renowned composer was forced to go into hiding in the Netherlands. However, she continued to compose and even organized secret concerts under risky circumstances. She escaped deportation and taught at the music school in Laren after the war.

Naoko Christ-Kato has made it her mission to bring the piano works of this impressive composer back into the spotlight. With her album “Rosy Wertheim's Wondrous Worlds,” which has been highly praised by the press, the pianist is now going on an album release tour through Germany.
