The soprano Barbara Zanichelli, born in Parma, sings a repertoire that extends from early music to contemporary works, performed either as a soloist or as a member of vocal ensembles (as is the case with the Athestis Chorus), under conductors such as Jeffrey Tate, Eliahu Inbal, Riccardo Muti, Neeme Järvi Thierry Fischer, Myung-whun Chung, Barthold Kuijken and Umberto Benedetto Michelangeli. She has premiered many works by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Stefano Gervasoni and Francesco Hoch. Her career also includes countless radio and commercial recordings for labels including Erato, Chandos, Virgin, Naïve and Aeon. Barbara Zanichelli currently teaches at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano.
