Rosa Franziska Maier is an Austrian guitarist, musician, scholarship holder, and winner of numerous international competitions. At the age of eleven, she won a first prize at the International Guitar Festival Rust and recorded her first CD, un.sueno.en.la.floresta, two years later.
Rosa Franziska Maier performs regularly as a soloist as well as with orchestra. In addition, she has a great affinity for chamber music and interdisciplinary projects, thanks to which she often performs in different chamber music formations. She has appeared as a soloist in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, and outside Austria she has performed in concerts in Italy, the Czech Republic, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, Germany, and Greece.
At the age of fifteen, Rosa Franziska Maier began her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in 2013 in the class of Italian guitar pedagogue Paolo Pegoraro, and later enrolled in the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where she completed her instrumental studies with distinction in 2023 under Uruguayan guitarist Álvaro Pierri.
She has received important musical inspiration from Italian lutenist and guitarist Luciano Contini, guitar pedagogue Elisabeth Irmler, violinist Regina Brandstätter, pianist Johannes Kutrowatz, Polish conductor Marta Gardolińska, and guitarist and musicologist Tilman Hoppstock.
